M.P. Nater announces Summer Jobs Tour

STRATFORD – John Nater, Member of Parliament for Perth-Wellington, announced today that he will be doing a summer jobs tour across the riding. Over the course of the summer Mr. Nater will be meeting with business owners, community leaders and students to discuss their experiences with the Canada Summer Jobs program.

M.P. Nater continued by saying, “The Canada Summer Jobs Program not only provides students with the opportunity to gain viable skills and work experience, but also to earn money while continuing their post-secondary education.”

Over the past few weeks I have had the privilege of informing over 90 local businesses and community organizations across the riding, that their projects had been approved. 182 young people will be working in Perth-Wellington this summer due to funding received through the program.”

M.P. Nater continued by saying, “I look forward to meeting with many of many of these business leaders and students over the summer to gather feedback about the Canada Summer Jobs program. I also plan to discuss skills training, labour shortages and aging workforce with Perth-Wellington’s business community on my Jobs Tour.”

A total of 95 projects were approved for the 2016 summer, representing 182 jobs and a total of $427,373 in funding. The Canada Summer Jobs Program falls under the larger  Youth Employment Strategy of the Government of Canada.
