M.P. Nater Hosts Jobs Tour Meeting in Mapleton

For Immediate Release

Drayton– John Nater, Member of Parliament for Perth—Wellington held the second of ten meetings on his Summer Jobs Tour earlier this afternoon. The meeting was held at the A La Mode Café in Drayton. Attendees included Mapleton municipal councillors, representatives from local businesses, and organizations who received funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Among the discussed topics were, labour shortages in agriculture, job training and retention, attracting young workers, and infrastructure.

Mr. Nater concluded the meeting by thanking each of the participants and stating: “The vitality of our small communities is essential. Governments must work with all stakeholders to provide support and solutions for the rural economy. Meetings like this one are essential to receive innovative answers to challenging questions.”

The next stop on the Jobs Tour will be in Perth East on Wednesday July 13 at the Knollcrest Lodge in Milverton from 1:00 – 2:00. More Summer Jobs Meetings
