M.P. Nater Hosts Jobs Tour Meeting in St. Marys

St. Marys– John Nater, Member of Parliament for Perth—Wellington held the fourth of ten meetings on his Summer Jobs Tour earlier today. The meeting was held at the St. Marys Pyramid Centre.

The meeting was held at the St. Marys Pyramid Centre. Attendees included St. Marys Mayor Al Strathdee, Perth South Mayor Bob Wilhelm, representatives from local employment organizations, and businesses and non-profits who received funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Among the discussed topics were, improvements to the Canada Summer Jobs program, labour needs, skills training, and transportation.

M.P. Nater thanked the participants for attending stating “modern skills training is an incredibly important in today’s economy. I hope we can find solutions and help employees gain the skills they need”. He added “The federal government also needs to do a better job of publicising the skills training programs available”.

M.P. Nater concluded the meeting by thanking the participants for attending stating “your feedback is incredibly valuable for policy development”.

The next stop on the Jobs Tour will be on Wednesday July 20 in West Perth at BJ’s Ice Cream Emporium, 24 Ontario Road Mitchell from 9:00 – 10:30. More Summer Jobs Tour Meetings
