M.P. Nater Hosts Jobs Tour Roundtable in Stratford

For Immediate Release

Stratford, ON– John Nater, Member of Parliament for Perth—Wellington held the seventh of ten roundtables on his Summer Jobs Tour earlier this afternoon. The meeting was held at The Local Community Food Centre in Stratford. Attendees included recipients of funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program, and community and business leaders.

Among the discussed topics were the successes and potential opportunities for improvements of the 2016 Canada Summer Jobs program, labour shortages, skills training and housing affordability.

MP Nater said: “Attracting young people to Stratford and the riding itself is a common theme emerging from these roundtables. At the Stratford meeting there was good discussion about how we can attract these young families to our smaller communities.”

MP Nater continued by stating: “The Canada Summer Jobs program is only one part of supporting young people in our area. It is through programs like this that students are introduced to the variety of jobs and careers in our local community.” He concluded by stating: “I would like to thank all the participants for taking time from their busy schedules to attend. I value the opportunity to hear from a variety of constituents with a diverse range of ideas and opinions.”

The next stop on MP Nater’s Jobs Tour will be Thursday August 4 at the Arthur Public Library in Wellington North from 10:30 – 12:00. More Summer Jobs Tour Meetings
